Witch of Agnesi is an interesting curve studied by the 18th century Italian mathematician, Maria Agnesi.

Jacob Bernoulli studied and described this interesting curve in the late 17th century. It is a modification of the ellipse.

Quadratrix of Dinostratus
The ancient Greek mathematicians studied this curve in an attempt to solve problems such as trisecting an angle and squaring a circle.
